About Us:

Chinook Therapeutics is a biotechnology company developing precision medicines for patients with kidney diseases.  We apply our proprietary research platform to discover and develop therapeutics with novel mechanisms of action against key kidney disease pathways. The development focus is on rare, serious disorders with clear unmet medical needs and defined and rapid clinical development opportunities.  Chinook’s pipeline currently has several internal programs at the validation and lead optimization stages rapidly progressing for multiple programs to enter clinical trials by 2021.  We are also evaluating business development opportunities for early and late-stage clinical assets to enhance the pipeline.

Chinook has raised a $65 million Series A financing from top tier venture capital firms Versant Ventures, Apple Tree Partners, and Samsara BioCapital.  We are a growing team of approximately 25 employees and are based in Vancouver, British Columbia and Seattle, Washington.

Position Summary:

Chinook Therapeutics has an opportunity for a seasoned Executive Assistant to join our growing team in Seattle. Reporting to the CEO and working as part of a team of administrative professionals, the Executive Assistant will provide high level and confidential support to the CEO and other executives.  This role will be a first point of contact for our Seattle office, handle complex correspondence and travel management, and coordinate Board of Directors meetings and materials.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide day to day administrative support to the CEO and other Executives as required
  • Proactive and strategic executive calendar management
  • Assist with Board and Committee meeting package preparation, Board schedule management
  • Liaise with representatives of other organizations on behalf of executives 
  • Organize and coordinate internal and external meetings and events, including travel arrangements
  • Provide follow up on all outgoing or outstanding matters and action items
  • Prepare various documents and presentations in advance of meetings with a variety of internal and external contacts and stakeholders
  • Create and maintain various company files, ensuring original and working copies are collected, filed, and stored appropriately on network
  • Travel and expense management for CEO and other executives
  • A variety of other responsibilities as required to support a dynamic and growing office 

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience including direct experience supporting C-level executives
  • Diploma or degree in office administration, business, communications or other related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; advanced Outlook and PowerPoint skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple busy calendars and coordinate complex international travel arrangements
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well under pressure as well as assess and prioritize assignments
  • Proactive, with the ability to problem solve and anticipate needs
  • Discretion, professionalism, tact; understands the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to assess and interact appropriately with a variety of audiences
