Chinook Therapeutics is a biotechnology company developing precision medicines for patients with kidney diseases. We apply our proprietary research platform to discover and develop therapeutics with novel mechanisms of action against key kidney disease pathways. The development focus is on rare, serious disorders with clear unmet medical needs and defined and rapid clinical development opportunities. Chinook’s pipeline currently has several internal programs at the validation and lead optimization stages rapidly progressing for multiple programs to enter clinical trials by 2021. We are also evaluating business development opportunities for early and late-stage clinical assets to enhance the pipeline.
Chinook has raised a $65 million Series A financing from top tier venture capital firms Versant Ventures, Apple Tree Partners, and Samsara BioCapital. We are a growing team of approximately 30 employees and are based in Vancouver, British Columbia and Seattle, Washington.
Chinook Therapeutics is seeking an energetic and collaborative scientist to lead the drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) discovery group situated in Vancouver, BC. The DMPK lead will be responsible for defining, directing and ensuring execution of strategies necessary to address key DMPK issues for multiple programs across Chinook’s discovery pipeline. This cross-functional leadership role may be based in either Chinook's Seattle or Vancouver location.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of in vitro ADME and in vivo PK and PD studies across multiple programs, including experimental design, execution and data analysis, and will actively contribute to laboratory work. Experience in human PK predictions, DMPK regulatory aspects necessary for IND-enabling studies and willingness to work with a clinical team for human PK-PD modeling are valuable assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, will be able to lead projects independently and will propose innovative solutions to DMPK issues. Candidates will work within a multidisciplinary drug discovery team of chemists, biologists and pharmacologists. The position title will be dependent on the successful candidate’s background and relevant experience.
